To be honest, one of the most interesting buildings I’ve ever seen was during a one-day trip to Chengdu.
It was actually located inside a high school, which made it even more surprising. The trip was part of an educational program, so we visited several schools, but this one really stood out because it’s said to have a history of over 2,000 years.
At first glance, the building looked like a typical traditional Chinese temple, with curved roofs, yellow tiles, and massive red wooden pillars. From the outside, it didn’t seem particularly special.
But once I stepped inside, I was completely surprised.
Instead of a traditional interior, it had a large, open space equipped with modern technology. There was a huge display wall made up of multiple screens, which looked almost like something you’d see in a tech exhibition.
The tour guide explained that the space was multifunctional—it could be used for student events, presentations, and also for showcasing the school’s long history.
What impressed me even more was that there was actually a hidden museum behind the display wall. Inside, there were ancient relics carefully preserved and displayed.
So the whole building felt like a perfect blend of tradition and modernity—it was part temple, part museum, and part student activity space.
That’s exactly why I found it so interesting. It completely challenged my expectations and showed how history and modern technology can coexist in a really creative way.
